We are currently seeking a highly motivated Transportation Construction Inspector located in PA/MD .

Overview:

CMTS LLC is seeking an experienced individual who will serve in the role of Transportation Construction Inspector for CMTS's growing transportation pursuits in Southcentral Pennsylvania and Norther Maryland. The selected individual will provide inspection services for the construction process of various project types including bridges, highways and roads. Responsibilities will include providing quality assurance and quality control oversight of work to ensure execution is accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with plans, specifications and client expectations.

Required Certifications/Licenses:

  • NICET certified as a Transportation Engineering Technician - Construction Level II, at minimum.
  • PennDOT Concrete Certification
  • NECEPT
    Bituminous Certification

Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities:

· Minimum 5 years of experience in bridge/highway/roadway inspection

· Proficient with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

· Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods

· Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards

· Understanding all facets of the construction process

· Familiarity with construction management software packages

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods of time

· Have clear vision at 2 feet, as well as be able to discern different colors

Responsibilities:

· Primary point of contact for and with the construction representative.

· Liaison between senior inspector, operations, and tenants during project duration.

· Coordination and oversight of routine sampling and testing of component materials for construction projects in accordance with contract specifications.

· Provide daily oversight of the contractor's quality control activities at the project location and maintain a daily log.

· Provide quality assurance to verify actual contracted service, materials, and construction.

· Coordinate material sampling and testing including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, in-place soil compaction testing, etc.

· Communicate with contractors of any unacceptable materials or work.

· Provide technical guidance regarding construction matters to project stakeholders.

· Maintain accurate project records, including as-built drawings.

· Verify quantities for contractors monthly pay estimate.

· Provide interpretation of construction plans, details, standards, and specifications.

· Perform other duties as needed to ensure project quality.

Salary:

  • $30.36-$31.67/hr.

Bonus Pay:

A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
