Job Title: ETL Quality Assurance Consultant Company: Technisource Location: Chicago, IL Description: We’re in search of an experienced ETL Quality Assurance Consultant for a long term contract role with our client in downtown Chicago who is a leader in the Healthcare/Insurance industry.  Selected candidate must have strong experience analyzing requirements and developing as well as executing test cases for ETL and Cognos Reports. Local candidates strongly preferred. Position will be long term. Job Description: Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Design, write and edit test plans to ensure software functions as designed. Review system use cases and functional specifications with the appropriate business analyst. Identify potential problems, omissions and open issues and attend walkthroughs and attend signoff meetings.Serve as a coach and mentor to the department staff regarding how to develop and execute a test plan. Serve as a process improvement leader for the QA department. Responsible for identifying areas for improvements, implementing process improvements and ensuring long term compliance. Act as the lead in managing QA participation in sunset reviews. Set policies, standards and procedures for cross-teams system development life cycle, workflow and the interfaces with Product Verification. Partner with team to prepare comprehensive QA project plan, estimates as well as the implementation for phases of projects. Monitor the schedule of testing phases for all projects based on project specifications, scope, and coverage.  Deliverables: Analyzing requirements and developing as well as executing test cases for ETL and Cognos Reports. Required Experience/Skills: Excellent SQL skills are required.ETL testing experience is a must.Cognos testing experience is required.Business Intelligence knowledge is required.Healthcare experience is preferred.DataStage knowledge is a plus.UNIX scripting is preferred.Automation experience is preferred.The candidate should be able to work independentlyBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience in similar work environmentMinimum 6 years of IT work experience. Testing background and hands on experience with test tools.
