Utilizes knowledge and practical experience in planning and completing assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner, with little or no guidance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: -Test Planning: Responsible for planning functional and system level testing of small to large and complex applications within the Risk Control organization to validate business and technical requirements are met. This includes but is not limited to creating estimates, writing test strategies, test plans and test cases, and following up to get them reviewed and approved by the project team and matrix partners. Also partners with business owners and application analysts to develop a thorough understanding of the application or process to be tested. -Test Execution: Responsible for test execution which includes test case execution, recording results and documenting defects. This also includes working with developers to reproduce problems and get them resolved in a timely and effective manner. -Improvement: Identifies improvement opportunities that reduce defects in production and increase efficiency and quality. -Communication: Establishes and maintains thorough and accurate documentation of work and communicates issues to QA leadership. Education/Work Experience: - 6+ years in Quality Assurance including hands on testing experience - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline - Experience with QA testing processes (QA test strategy, test plans, scripts, data strategies, etc.) - Excellent QA/System testing discipline, understanding various phases and types of testing - Experience with Mercury Quality Center test management tool or other comparable test management tools - Demonstrated ability to assess existing testing processes and make improvements to achieve efficiencies - Takes personal accountability for the results of the testing efforts produced by the organization - Possesses strong technical skills/aptitude that can be applied to understand system specifications and translate these into comprehensive test strategies and functional test cases/scripts - Ability to manage multiple streams of activity to achieve objectives - Collaborative, team-oriented, results driven - Experience with automated testing and automated testing tools (i.e. Quick Test Pro) preferred - Experience with SQL and .NET a plus - Experience with agile development a plus - Experience with Risk Control a plus Other Technical Knowledge: Quickly develops master level knowledge of the business that the assigned systems are supporting.
