Job Title: Quality Engineer – Madison, MS (39110) Company: Kelly Automotive Services Grp Location: Madison, MS Description: Quality Engineer – Madison, MS (39110) Quality Engineer – Madison, MS (39110)-Contract opportunity.RESPONSIBILITIES:-Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and quality performance records for each supplier.-Establish and maintain a master list of each suppler and their materials / parts receiving at the plant.-Establish and approve incoming verification instructions and designate employee training.-Resolve supplier quality issues using Kepner-Tregoe and 8D methodologies.-Implement Supplier Manufacturing Quality Systems for prototype, pre-production and production builds.-Update and maintain the Incoming Verification List and distributing to respective receiving teams.-Conduct receiving inspection product audits.-Schedule and conduct MQRs with sub-par suppliers.-Submit and track closure of SMRRs and supplier corrective action plans.-Perform color / appearance approval process / pre-grain to PPAP.-Coordinate and prepare delivery of control plans, capability studies, part layouts, gage designs, gage R&Rs, PFMEAs and DMEAs.-Utilize all customer specific systems (Chrysler PRISM, GM PRR, Ford WERS).-Ensure that appropriate statistical methods are utilized throughout product / process development and deployed into the control plan.-Develop incoming inspection and containment plans. REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: -Quality Planning including familiarity with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan standard, FMEAs, PPAPs, Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design, and Performance / Material testing.-Statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem solving methodology.-Manufacturing Quality system experience and Customer communication activities.-Thorough knowledge of basic gage use and performance (e.g. calipers, micrometers, Faro Arm, Torque Gages, etc.).REQUIRED EDUCATION: -Bachelors Degree.-Specific training in ISO / TS quality processes, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE and SPC. PREFERRED EDUCATION:-BOS auditor training preferred.-Professional Certification in Quality Engineering preferred.
