Job Title: Risk Manager-QA/UR Coordinator Company: Location: Reno, NV Description: Definition of position Coordinates and develops the Risk Management Department as well as other programs and activities related. This position acts as a consultant to all departments and areas of risk and liabilities. The position is a member of the management team of the facility and serves on committees as assigned. The position also performs the functions of a hospital wide Quality Assurance Coordinator under the direction of the Administrator and medical staff goals and the approved Quality Assurance/Utilization Review (QA/UR) plan and monitors unusual occurrences, report follow-up procedures, and report monthly and year -to-date comparisons. The position also monitors adherence to the hospital?s utilization review plan to ensure the effective and efficient use of hospital services and monitors the appropriateness of hospital admissions and extended hospital stays. Reports to the Director of Nursing. Minimum qualifications Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and ability such as: Must be a high school graduate and possess either an Associates or higher degree AND must have practical experience in the field. Possess training in the area of risk management OR ability and aspiration to complete training provided through the Hospital. State of Nevada Nursing License or ability to obtain State of Nevada Nursing License preferred. Risk Management experience preferred. Utilization Review or case management experience preferred.
