Quality Assurance Manager-Cedar Rapids Corn Wet Mill Plant/Dry Grind Ethanol This is an exempt level position.Job Description: • Oversee all aspects of production from a food quality and food safety standpoint in a 400+ employee food manufacturing facility, two quality control laboratories, quality control technicians and a strong laboratory supervisory team. • Responsible for quality related training programs locally and interaction with divisional quality personnel. • Watch over the day-to-day facility condition. • Make sure the finished product quality meets the accepted standards. Job Title: Manager QA/QC Lab Company: Valero Energy Corporation Location: Albert City, IA Description: Implement and manage plant QA/QC program based on the ethanol industry best practices. Monitor use and inventories of laboratory chemicals and supplies; initiate re-ordering when necessary. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improving operation or solving process related problems. Sample at various points in the production process and conduct QA/QC tests as required. Supervise QA laboratory technicians to ensure they are adequately trained and equipped. Assist with the hiring of laboratory personnel. Maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Coordinate activities with the Operations Supervisor to ensure effective participation in the QA/QC procedures by the Process Operators. Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the laboratory. Requirements Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related scientific or technical field required. Ten years experience in a QA/QC laboratory required.
