Plan/direct tests of compatibility of new software with installed systems, networks, and technology platforms. Guide/direct staff efforts to track errors, bugs, and the like in test data files for follow up and/or further testing. Ensure systems meet or exceed client uses and systems specifications.KEY JOB FUNCTIONSPlan and direct testing program, including setting test standards, reviewing test plans, assignment of staff to testing specific applications, and budgeting/allocating resources to testing program.Meet with leadership of unit(s) for which application is being developed to ensure that testing program is targeted to pertinent functionalities, screens, and outputs. Plan, or direct staff who are planning technical specifications of test scripts.Assign unit staff to testing projects based on skills, complexity of test exercise, and workload. Allocate/budget resources needed to accomplish testing/QC exercise on a timely basis.Play technical or project lead to specific testing/QC projects; review/critique test scripts and track testing exercise, assessing results and planning modifications as necessary.Report to senior management on the units production, activities, and efforts.Represent the unit as an expert or resource to cross-functional project or coordinating teams.Plan, document, and manage the performance of subordinate managers and/or staff. Provide for professional or technical growth through assignment, mentoring, or training.Plan and manage the units budget. Approve expenditures or budget transfers.
