Job Title: QC Technician Company: Confidential Company Location: Asheboro, NC Description:  SUMMARYPerform and approve quality checks on all production work using the samples taken from lots processed through the blenders and extruders and making molded chips and/or “flat downs” or pressings to evaluate conformance to PCC and customer’s specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESUse equipment including but not limited to running molding machines, hydraulic press, mixing machine, microscope, spectrophotometer and melt indexer. Make molded color chips for color checks by PCC and for shipment to customers.  Check & Approve color of pre-mix samples and start-up samples. Communicate with production supervision if there is a problem with a batch: such as; contamination or off-color. Start and complete color “fixes’ on off color batches as needed. Perform tests such as Delta E. Melt Flow, Bulk density, Ash content and other tests as required by customer order. Record results of tests on appropriate documents. Evaluate paper work (batch tickets) to ensure that all steps concerning quality have been completed and are within specified limits. Compile and provide Certificates of Conformance or Analysis (COC/COA) when specified on order. Prepare or aid in the preparation of sample packages to be shipped to customers. This may include packaging and sending small bags of extruded material, flat downs, or molded chips, and test reports as specified. Follow all company rules, safety practices, housekeeping, wearing of personal protection equipment and perform miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor.
