Description:
Supports Production Manager in all tasks related to the processing of fresh and frozen seafood including the overall activities associated with the plant?s manufacturing practices. Ensures Quality Assurance through continuous inspection, testing and documentation of all tasks related to the processing of fresh and frozen seafood. Essential Job Functions ? Experience in the fundamentals of plant equipment related to its use, maintenance and capabilities. ? Assists in developing system procedures to maximize production efficiency. ? Assures accurate records for all inventory of incoming and outgoing products is maintained. ? Maintains the highest level of standards in all processing procedures to uphold product integrity. ? Assures all product and label requirements follow customer specifications. ? Coordinates between cold storage and production for transferring of product. ? Adheres to company SOP?s and standards. ? Provide reliable and accurate information related to Work Orders. ? Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendation. ? Team orientation, which includes the ability to work with individuals at all, levels of the organization. ? Understanding of the characteristics of all fish and shellfish species prior to harvest, in route to processing, upon arrival and throughout production. ? Knowledge of head & gutting, filleting, portioning, sectioning, freezing and packaging of all fish and shellfish. ? Provides ongoing visual, and probe sampling of fresh and frozen seafood to ensure food safety and customer specifications are followed. ? Assures all label requirements follow customer specifications. ? Proficient in knowledge within the guidelines of HACCP, Silliker, and MSC. ? Experience in the fundamentals of plant equipment related to its use, maintenance and capabilities. ? Provide reliable and accurate glaze and in-fill information related to Work Orders. ? Team orientation, which includes the ability to work with individuals at all, levels of the organization. Required Skills/Abilities: ? Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds ? Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in cool, wet, Ozone environment ? Ability to work in a safe manner with all processing equipment ?
