Incoming material quality testing and approval Specification, test method, Certificate of Analysis, and quality documentation maintenance Oversee and verify QC Line Inspection activities and other QC related duties delegated to Production employees Support all objectives exceed targeted Company Goals. REQUIRED 2 year degree in chemistry or related technical field College coursework in Science and Math equaling three or more semesters and Two (2) or more years QC/QA or related work experience in an FDA regulated or ISO compliant environment One (1) year successful experience supervising quality activities in an FDA/cGMP/USDA/Medical Device operation Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, and email. Major Function: Under the direction of the QA Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the product/process problems prevention control systems. The efficient operation will ensure the overall quality of all products produced and packaged. Nature and Scope: The Quality Control Supervisor implements programs to assure and prevent quality problems as well as maintaining effective procedures to solve quality problems when and if they arise. This position evaluates products and processes to assure that standards are in compliance with regulatory agencies as well as with customer and company requirements. The incumbent is responsible for the inspection and evaluation of finished goods and accompanying processes. The QA position provides testing for incoming packaging materials. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Instruct and train Quality Control personnel responsible for performing quality testing and data collection in the technical phases of their work. Assist the Quality Control Manager in his/her evaluation of Quality Control Lab Technicians. 2. Develop written quality procedures for new equipment and/or operations as needed. 3. Maintain and assure the accuracy of the Statistical Weight Control Program. Use analytical analysis to evaluate and review weight control with Staff, Packaging and Maintenance Departments and propose revisions as necessary. 4. Maintain placards and placard database for packaging lines 5. Develop test procedures for packaging components. Determine acceptability standards and rejection criteria for films, labels, canisters shippers, etc. 6. Respond to consumer complaints. Analyze with appropriate Departments. Evaluate all incidents, identify trends. Issue a monthly summary to all departments. 7. Issue Quality Awareness Reports (QAR?s). Review with the appropriate Department Supervisor(s) to communicate quality or production issues and how to prevent their reoccurrence. Report monthly to all departments. 8. Issue Defective Materials Communication Reports (DMCR?s). Working with the appropriate department, issue a disposition for affected materials. Evaluate any trends and summarize monthly to all departments. 9. Work with customers and various departments to ensure that plant trial tests have placards and procedures (including all special customer instructions) available prior to the start of operations. Supply data and assist in the accurate reporting of the results of the plant test. 10. Perform the monthly plant audit, review with all departments. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: Minimum of an Associates Degree in one of the sciences with a Degree in Food Science preferred.
