Small produce Distribution Company seeking a part time employee (20 hours week, maybe more) for the position of Quality Assurance/Quality Control to manage our HACCP Program.
Essential Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
?HACCP, GMP and SSOP programs as well as the quality program.
?Effectiveness of Quality Assurance procedures and department including appraisal of production procedures and product attributes for compliance to established standards from the raw material stage through to the finished product
?Conduct all associated Quality and Food Safety training and education.
?Allergen and product recall programs.
?Ensure compliance with FDA / USDA / CFIA / Customer requirements and liaise with the regulatory bodies, - Provide corrective action and full resolution for non-recurrence to customer requests, inspections, audits and other related issues.
?Assure product, materials and process specifications are current and accurate.
?Manage pre-operational and operational plant inspections and other checks to ensure food safety.
?Pest control compliance.
?Supplier management with company and corporate - (complaints, letter of guarantee, spec, etc).
?Continuous Quality Improvement.
?Problem Solving, resolution and improvement techniques
?Assist and manage product shelf life testing for new and existing products.
?Develop, track, analyze, and communicate quality related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
?Cooperate with management in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
?Manage all interaction with USDA and FDA regulatory agencies to insure the existence of a positive working relationship is maintained. Lead any company to government, customer and public communications with respect to any food safety or quality concerns or issues.
?Create and implement testing criteria and procedures. Directs workers engaged in testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Provides testing activity for product throughout production cycle.
?Able to operate a variety of lab equipment and instruments, and a variety of office equipment, including computers plus experience with database and spreadsheet application. Employee will be required to blend formulas and perform tests using a variety of laboratory equipment. (Including, but not limited to Ph level water testing)
