These functions are performed by utilizing criteria as regulated by the Federal Government and third party payers, ensuring appropriate utilization of resources to deliver quality care, ensuring appropriate length of stay, and outcomes of satisfaction. Develops and maintains a comprehensive incident reporting system to receive, investigate and evaluate incidents to meet the needs of the organization and the requirements of the State of Florida. The position will report to the COO/CNO and will supervise one Social Worker.Education and Experience: Current State of Florida nursing license or eligible for reciprocity; Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager (LHCRM) in the state of Florida, or certification eligible; Working knowledge of current Federal and State licensing/regulatory requirements and the Standards of The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations; Bachelors Degree of Nursing required; Masters Degree in Nursing preferred but not required; Background in nursing, medical affairs, medical records, or hospital administration, with experience in risk management or medical professional liability claims adjusting; Experience in performance improvement principles; Prefer Peer Review/ Quality Management Experience; Case Management/Utilization Review experience preferred; Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel, with the demonstrated ability to manage a database such as Premier or other ORYX/Core Measure vendor; Ability to organize, analyze, and make decisions; Ability to evaluate clinical information and medical record documentation, and to apply established criteria, standards, regulations, and laws; Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, other hospital associates, patients, and external customers; Working knowledge of current Federal and State licensing/regulatory requirements.
