Manages the total quality function of a plant. Ensures adherence to and compliance with established company quality policies, practices, SOP's and federal regulations. Ensures quality of materials purchased, processed, manufactured and/or distributed by the company. May be responsible for on-site training.
Key Characteristics:
Responsible for effective implementation and maintenance of Quality Systems and compliance programs in accordance with MDD 93/42/EEC, ISO 13485, CMDR, and applicable QSRs (21 CI-R820, 210, 211)
Responsible for multiple Quality Systems functions including CAPA, Complaints, Environmental Programs, Sterilization, local Management Review, change and design review, and all aspects of Manufacturing support for processes and products, including but not limited to incoming and in-process inspection, and finished goods for a specific facility or product type / family.
· Working through individual contributors or supervisors, ensures the effective implementation and maintenance for Quality Systems requirements including but not limited to, MDD 93/42/EEC, IS013485, CMDR, and QSRs. Ensures organizational compliance with Quality Systems procedures and regulations.
· Establishes and manages inspection, sampling and testing to assure batches/products meet specification from raw material to finished goods.
· Partners with Plant Management to pro-actively identify and resolve quality issues and ensures products are manufactured in compliance with written specifications. Regularly monitors the status of corrective actions/preventive actions to ensure quality issues are resolved and products are manufactured in compliance with written specifications.
· Oversees the quality system compliance of the site through internal audit program, local management review, quality meetings, and routine trend analysis of key performance indicators. Initiates corrective and preventive actions as required.
· Represents in 2nd (e.g. customer, contractor) and 3rd (e,g FDA, ISO) party quality system audits.
· Partners with plant management to integrate design and engineering change to processes and product through a quality plan including verification and validation.
· Promotes and educates personnel on quality system requirements, responsibility, and accountability.
· Contributes to defining strategic direction for function, facility, and corporation
· Executes short and long term strategies of Quality Management System (QMS) and facility
· Interacts with senior management and collaborates across functions
· Is subject matter expert
Education and Experience Required:
· Bachelors Degree? engineering, sciences, business preferred
· 5+ years related quality assurance experience is required.
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements of job description
· Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with facility management and individual contributors is required..
· Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with external agencies and regulatory agencies to explain Company policies, procedures and processes with respect to their facility/product family is required.
· Working knowledge of problem solving techniques and statistics (e.g. six sigma methodology)

Quality Engineer
Required:
? BS in Engineering, Math, or Physics or similar degree, CPE
? 10years electronic/electrical assembly/manufacturing engineering experience in the connector -and or cable industry or heavy user of the connector and cable industry.
? Strong knowledge and experience with quality tools and processes. SPC, CPK, FEMA, etc.
? Proven communication and interpersonal skills relative to customer interfacing.
? Quality Management and Global Implementation experience in ISO 9000, 14000 and 13485
? Manufacturing Experience in or with the Greater China region supply base with High Tech firms and/or suppliers is an extreme plus.
? Experience with six sigma and lean manufacturing and the ability to teach it and help organization impliment
? Be able to travel both domestically and internationally (2 to 4 times a year to Asia as well as 4 to 10 trips domestically)
Preferred:
? Mandarin Chinese language is a plus.
Day to Day:
? Manage all aspects of the quality operations worldwide.
? Manage global implementation/maintenance regulatory approvals. ISO 9000, 14000, 13485, UL, etc. in all of facilities.
? Coordinate hiring of and efforts of quality personnel around the world.
? Ensure the company maintains its position as a top tier China manufacturer as measured by ourselves and by our customers.
? Manage and measure efforts to constantly improve in all of major business processes.
? Ensure that training is planned and conducted in accordance with SOP?s and that this training addresses outstanding Survey needs and should include training programs and initiatives for team members at all locations.

? Expand and manage Failure Analysis Lab in Utah office and where necessary, in other locations.

? Manage and monitor supplier quality of goods purchased by their factory to insure all goods purchased are from reputable and authorized suppliers.
