Job Title: Education/QA Manager (RN) Company: Rhode Island Blood Center Location: Providence, RI Description: Education/QA Manager:  The Donor Services Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Education/QA Manager to develop and coordinate programs for the department.  This manager will work closely with other managers, associate manager, coordinators, Donor Services Supervisors and staff to ensure quality blood collection by competently trained staff. This manager will also coordinate the SafeTrace information system with the IT Department to include validation, training and hardware maintenance as well as other software in the department.   Key Responsibilities:·  Manage the Donor Services Education Program and supervise the writing of          Standard Operating Procedures.·  Oversee the development and function of the Quality Program in Donor Services.         Ensure current knowledge of and adherence to new and existing Regulatory Standards         and requirements with regulatory agencies(AABB, FDA, FACT, OSHA).·  Coordinate change control and validation processes (process, equipment, software) including Safe Trace, Vista, Quality Management Systems and other technologies used in Donor Services.   Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in medical technology, Nursing or other relevant science required. Alternatively, broad blood bank and/or quality assurance and compliance knowledge equivalent to a college or university education may be acceptable.Experience/Qualifications: Minimum 3 to 5 years of blood banking or relevant QA/Compliance experience in a regulated environment required, preferably with a healthcare background. Quality auditing experience preferred. This position requires strong organization, communication(verbal and written), and presentation skills along with the ability to interact effectively with operational departments to achieve quality assurance objectives. Must be able to effectively manage multiple assignments while adhering to strict deadlines.
