Job Title: QA - Project Manager Company: Location: Chicago, IL Description: Position: Senior Test Engineer/Project Manager The Opportunity: SteepRock is looking for an experienced software QA engineer/Project Manager to work on cutting-edge network-based and Windows-based software. Requirements: ? Hands-on, technical engineer, with a proven track record of delivering extremely high quality product deliveries, and the desire to do so repeatedly. The right candidate will enjoy ?getting in the trenches? as well as possess project management experience; ? Experience defining, documenting, and executing primarily black box testing efforts ? including the ability to setup test plans with detailed test cases guided by the inherent ability to understand the application; ? Strong knowledge of software lifecycle with the ability to manage both simple and complex projects and to move from project to project; ? Experience testing database based applications using Structured Query Language and enterprise databases (especially MS SQL Server, MySQL); ? Experience with Linux, Unix, Windows servers; ? Detailed knowledge of Internet and web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL; ? Detailed knowledge of QA Tools and methodologies, especially test automation; ? Experience testing database and database centric applications; ? Working knowledge of Bugzilla and Testopia is a plus; ? Experience with virtual environments, particularly Virtual PC and VMWare; ? Experience with backup and recovery software, such as Norton?s Ghost or Acronis True Image; ? Complete knowledge of source code control (CVS, SVN) and management operations; ? A high-speed internet connection (DSL or Cable only) is REQUIRED, no exceptions. Cellular cards, dial-up or satellite is not acceptable. ? BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent; and, ? At least 5 years direct experience with Software Quality Assurance. Eventually, this position could be responsible for management of operations for a product line.
