Typical Responsibilities for Senior Engineers: - Perform professional level RMS engineering duties including performing primary safety analysis, including circuit stress analysis, R&M predictions, failure modes effects analysis, and failure analysis; and generate reports to document those analyses. - Assist in developing and conducting reliability tests and maintainability demonstration tests. - Be an active member of the Design Team throughout all phases of the program and work from technical objectives, overall schedules and expected results as specified by supervisor or Program Engineering Manager (PEM). - Be involved with the design process by performing analyses to evaluate the design and provide timely feedback to the team, including safety analysis reports, circuit analysis, reliability predictions, maintainability predictions, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, testability analysis and built-in- test analysis that ensure all reliability, maintainability and product safety goals of the programs and company are met. - Perform failure analysis to determine root cause of failures, and determine corrective action to improve the reliability of the equipment. - Make independent decisions consistent with objectives which are based on available data, selection and application of materials, component parts, structures, and equipment/assembly layouts and required parameters. - Recommend to the PEM alternate solutions, "trade-offs," or other design improvements with respect to RMS.
