Job Title: Lead Field Engineer Electrical Company: Bechtel Location: Spring City, TN Description: Leads construction engineers in a broad range of constructionengineering work within a specific engineering discipline for aparticular area of the project. Provides engineering assistance tosuperintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and timeschedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality and assuresresults meet design requirements.On a large project, functions as a lead discipline engineer,coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with otherareas/disciplines on the jobsite.On a small to medium-sized project, performs the duties of a leadengineer in an area, coordinating and directing a variety ofdisciplines, or performs the duties as a Project Field Engineer orProject Field Quality Control Engineer coordinating activities relatedto the operation of the assigned operating section of the jobsite. Lead Field Engineer Electrical:-Provide technical direction and assistance to Field EngineersElectrical, Electrical Superintendents and crafts.-Supervise and coordinate work activities of electrical fieldengineering staff.-Perform inspections of all electrical work in progress on a continualbasis and complete final checkout of electrical installations to ensurequality and conformance to specifications and codes priior to turnoverto client for startup.-Assist project controls and supervision in the establishment ofdetailed work plans and mini-schedules.-Perform takeoffs and initiate and track field purchased materials forelectrical commodities.-Responsible for on-site database and associated interface withelectrical installations and tests.-Coordinate and document client and vendor required verifications ofelectrical installations and tests.-Assist with the technical coordination of the lock-out and tag-outprogram activities.-Coordinate with vendor Technical Advisors as required.-Coordinate with Engineering to resolve drawing and database issues -Inspect permanant plant materials during the receiving process toinsure they meet project standards and drawings-Issue FMR for purchase of permanant plant materials-Coordinate and inspect subcontractors in the electrical field -Experience in construction and technical inspection in the areas ofinstallation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, highvoltage equipment, grounding, DCS systems and cable pulling activities.-Must be familiar with National Electrical codes and NEMA standards forelectrical installations.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:-B.S. in Electrical Engineering plus 6 years experience; or equivalentexperience-Previous Nuclear experience-Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and databaseapplications-Must be familiar with current industry quality standards-Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Watts BarNuclear Plant.-Must be able to comply with site procedures.-Must be able to pass written and proficiency test relating toapplicable procedures.-Must have a valid U.S. drivers license-Must have the right to work and remain in the United StatesGrade 27 will be considered depending on qualifications.
