Job Title: Field Engineer I Company: Illinois Tool Works Inc. Location: Troy, OH Description: This posting will close on Thursday, August 26, 2010. No other resumes/applications will be accepted after this date.The selected candidate will perform day-to-day technical support for diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution of Cooking equipment and service issues. Conduct testing and operations in the Steam Engineering Lab. Provide troubleshooting of new equipment, maintain tool calibration; and review, update and write product manuals. Core Responsibilities Providing advanced technical troubleshooting and repair assistance to field technicians, sales, service, customers, product division groups, manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance and vendors.Facilitating resolution of equipment and service performance complaints received from customers.Investigating and assisting QA/Engineering groups with resolution development for equipment performance problems.Provide installation supervision and customer/technical in-field training.Provide field support, service and training to customers directly. Occasionally traveling to location.Develop and implement product upgrade and retrofit programs.Log incoming telephone calls for field support analysis.Provide/assist with the development of service documentation.Make safety and health issues/concerns a priority and adhere to established regulations and guidelines.Test "Setup" of equipment or models under evaluation.Serve as back-up in department, as needed.This position is located at the Troy Plant for the Cooking/Steam Organization.Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree3+ years experience in Technical Support, Engineering/AQ or Field Service OrganizationEffective verbal and written and interpersonal communication skillsEfficient trouble shooting skillsSelf-starterProficient in Microsoft Office ApplicationsMechanical AbilityPreferred Qualifications:Certification in HVAC, Advanced Electronics,Technology or Computer Science
