They shall be familiar with the development of uncertainty budgets and the calculation of test uncertainty ratios including the use of statistical analysis methods. They shall be familiar with both electrical and mechanical metrology including equipment and methodology. They shall have hands on knowledge of electronic, dimensional and mechanical equipment used in the calibration function including items such as: precision voltmeters, reference resistors, signal sources, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, gage blocks, micrometers, torque calibrators, and precision frequency standards. They shall be familiar with the development of calibration procedures, using manufacturer's data, for use by technicians. In this role you are responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. Essential Responsibilities - Perform hands-on field service and repair of Power Delivery and/or Drives and Control equipment - Plan, organize and supervise FE and technician / electrician crews performing field service work - Project Management of Firm Price Projects - Plan, prepare, and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specialization - Perform administrative functions - Strive to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in all transactions and relationships - Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability - Maintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties, and accomplish effective warranty administration such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis - Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary - Be knowledgeable of, and conduct work activities in compliance with, the ES Safety Manual and Safety policy - Exercise good judgment in controlling costs and expenditures of Company funds - Protect the Company's capital investments by properly safeguarding and maintaining that equipment for which responsible - Make contributions to the continued development and refinement of I&FS Engineering Standards and Procedures as they apply to designated specialty and to conduct work efforts in accordance thereof - Develop knowledge of ES Terms and Conditions and those of customers and subcontractors, and perform activities so as to minimize risk and assure compliance Qualifications/Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or at least 8 years of Industrial electrical work experience - At least 5 years of Field Engineering experience - At least 5 years of Project / Site Management Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work. Desired Characteristics - Technical skills in GE and non-GE Power Delivery Equipment, including transformers, breakers, and relays - Technical skills in GE and non-GE Drives and Control Equipment such as GE DC300, AC/DC 2000, AC innovation, Analog/Digital Siltron and familiarity with Fanuc, MMI's, HMI's, Cimplicity, Arcnet, -Genius, CPL and Dlan - Experience with Power System Studies and Design - Willingness and ability to travel - Possess or be able to obtain a Passport and Driver's License - Field Design experience - Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships - Solid business acumen and ability to sell GE to the customer - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision - Customer service oriented - GE Energy / Energy Services experience - GE Field Engineer experience - Experience in managing / leading teams and work direction - Strong Computer skills including Outlook/Excel/Word - Experience in Contracts including Terms & Conditions Why join one great company when you can join many?
