Job Title: QA Tester III Company: Hunter Technical Resources Location: Alpharetta, GA Description: Our Client located in the Alpharetta area is looking for a QA Tester III - Participate in project initiation meetings, understand and provide high level and detailed estimates for resource planning. - Review system requirements and product specifications adherence to methodology and standards. - Prepare and review functional test plans (detailed test strategy) and high level test design documentation. - Write and execute test cases as per the schedule in a multi-platform environment that includes VMS and UNIX operating systems Oracle databases and other technologies. - Conducts and assists with the creation, execution and maintenance of feature and regression test suite. - Create and maintain test data, record test results, track and work with developers towards resolution of issues. - Review test results for compliance to specifications and report discrepancies to management. - Evaluate, recommend and implement testing tools and life cycle methodologies. - Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required Knowledge and Skills (Must Have) - 8+ years experience in Quality Assurance. - Testing experience with applications developed on VMS and UNIX based operating systems. - Strong working experience with applications running on VMS. Candidate should be able to navigate through use of VMS commands and write VMS command files. Candidate should have experience manipulating logicals pertaining to VMS system and also manipulate ini files for setup within a complex mixed environment - Strong background in writing test plans, test design and test cases etc. - Strong working experience writing SQL queries to do Back End testing - Experience with defect tracking/management software such as Quality Center. - Should be able to do basic level code debugging, trace and check system log files in case of issues. - Ability to work in a fast paced team setting and has a strong attention to detail. - Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills - TOAD experience is a plus, but not required for the position.
