Job Title: Process Improvement, Six Sigma Black Belt Company: Hartford Financial Services Location: Windsor, CT Description: This position will report directly to the AVP of Process Excellence and will have a matrix reporting relationship to senior leaders in the Individual Annuity, Individual Life and Retirement Plan Group business units.The primary role of the Six Sigma Black Belt is to partner with line of business leaders to identify, develop and execute Six Sigma and/or Lean Sigma projects involving significant cost reduction impact and improvement in customer experienceThe Six Sigma Black Belt will assist in the identification, training and mentorship of Green Belts who will be working on projects aligned with the overall improvement goals of the organization, and will be responsible for conducting training sessions for all employees to elevate awareness of Six Sigma concepts and toolsResponsibilitiesWorking with multi-functional operations teams and business leadership to develop, execute and complete selected improvement projects.Working with the AVP of Process Excellence, manage the portfolio of projects including identification and prioritization of new projects, status reporting of projects underway, and calculation of aggregate business impact, both financial and customer related.Complete Six Sigma projects as assigned. Success on the project will be measured as follows:o Proper execution of methodology and tool selection balancing speed with rigoro Project discipline (e.g. scope, schedule, budget, quality)o Timely completion of the project as agreed to by the project sponsor.o Involvement of financial consultant throughout the projecto Timely and accurate updates in agreed upon presentation format to leadershipAct as a change agent to instill Six Sigma culture throughout the organization and drive measurable business process improvement.Train other team members on Six Sigma methodology during project executionMentor Green Belts to support their project completion and certificationIdentify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process/productivity improvement and administrative efficiency that will lead to cost reduction and competitive advantage.Work with finance and other members of the organization in assessing, tracking and reporting the financial benefit of Six Sigma projects.Provide management with regular project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on selected projects.Collaboratewith other Black Belts in the organization to share best practices and to maximize understanding and improvement efforts of Six Sigma.
