VP of Quality
The vice president of quality is responsible for the comprehensive evaluation of production software, systems, and procedures.  They oversee the development and implementation of necessary systems in order to detect any errors and correct them as early as possible.  VPs must be able to effectively plan and coordinate the activities of associates to ensure overall performance, availability, and sales of goods, before investments are made. 

Quality Control Manager/Director
QC managers and directors are accountable for numerous processes once production has been completed.  They design and oversee necessary functions to ensure all products meet company standards. Candidates must work with other members of management for scheduling, planning, and overall system development.  Managers and directors may be responsible for a specific area or the entire production floor. 

Quality Assurance Manager/Director 
Responsible for the actions of many associates, QA managers and directors supervise a variety of quality control tasks, as well as company guidelines and practices.  Managers and directors may be responsible for a specific area, or the entire quality control process.  They ensure that all company requirements are met, and that all products meet customer needs.  These professionals must ensure that quality raw materials are utilized, products are produced to specification, and that proper shipments are produced.  In order to succeed, candidates must be highly organized and able to effectively manage numerous associates.

Manager/Director of Regulatory Affairs 
The manager or director of regulatory affairs must be adequately trained in company policies and requirements, as well as government or customer regulations.  They are involved in the production process from beginning to end to ensure a variety of codes and standards are maintained.  If the production process requires any changes, the manager or director will work with other managers to create and implement new strategies.

Project Manager
Project managers work directly with production laborers and members of management teams in order to ensure that all special projects or parts production is completed according to pre-established guidelines. Candidates are accountable for the actions of other associates, and therefore must possess excellent supervisory and management skills.  Project managers must have the ability to think fast and develop necessary changes or advancements when needed. 

Black Belt/Six Sigma Engineer
Specialized professionals trained in Six Sigma practices must undergo adequate training to achieve “black belt” status.  These engineers have a thorough knowledge of all actions and practices necessary for product engineering.  Six Sigma programs are enlisted to create engineers for uniform, effective, and accurate engineering.   

Field Engineer
Field engineers are employed in order to work on products off facility grounds.  If problems arise with produced goods at a customer’s facility, field engineers travel to the site, evaluate, test, and repair machines or products as necessary.  They must have a thorough knowledge of hardware and software systems in order to accurately troubleshoot and repair goods.  These engineers must be creative, analytical, and self motivated in order to achieve success in these occupations.

Failure Analysis Engineer
Failure analyst engineers are required to create original research documents or reviews of engineering failures.  They describe the processes utilized as well as the outcomes or specific failures of the engineering system(s).  They research the material quality, entire production process, and behavior of the products.  These documents are utilized as reference information for future processes, and are integral for advancement.  Failure analysis engineers may work with ceramics, natural materials, metals, or polymers.

Product Safety Engineer
By conducting a variety of tests, product safety engineers determine the overall safety of products to ensure all environmental and organizational standards are maintained.  They develop systems for avoiding chemical and physical hazards, and alter engineering standards as necessary in order to improve safety.  Product safety engineers examine any associate, accident, or injury caused by product failure, and create effective alterations where necessary. 

Quality Assurance Engineer
Quality assurance engineers follow pre-established policies or guidelines to ensure developments meet necessary standards.  They analyze current procedures, look for areas where errors may occur, develop corrections that maintain all other standards, and correct problem areas.  These engineers utilize numerous tools and software in order to complete investigations, and keep detailed records of all findings and corrections.

Quality Control Engineer
Once products are completed, quality control engineers are utilized to test and analyze products in order to ensure accurate specifications are met.  With the assistance of other professionals, these engineers develop more effective and accurate production and testing methods. 

Quality Systems Engineer
To ensure all systems are operating at peak performance, quality systems engineers are employed to evaluate systems, products, and procedures utilized throughout the production process.  Systems engineers detect problem areas and suggest changes wherever necessary.  They may conduct full systems tests or product tests to find production weaknesses.  Associates must have an extensive knowledge of the production process and creativity in correcting drawbacks. 

Reliability Engineer
Responsible for design examination, management, prediction, estimation, distribution tactics, development, operation, investigation, and reliability testing of production processes, reliability engineers must be highly trained and extremely analytical.  They assess all systems, machines, and practices throughout the production process in order to determine the accuracy, cost effectiveness, safety, and overall reliability of methods. 

Statistical Engineer
Concerned with how things work, statistical engineers analyze and research processes that are utilized daily, and create a variety of statistical reports that correspond with their findings.  They use information from past and present calculations in order to develop the most successful future processes.  Due to the amount of calculation that is needed on a daily basis, associates must have excellent mathematical and practical knowledge. 

Supplier Engineering
Responsible for a variety of tasks daily, supply engineers must be capable of understanding and discerning numerous reports related to product design, development, and client needs.  They inspect all materials that are shipped in and ensure all materials meet specifications. If any parts or products do not meet quality or other standards, these associates must deal with suppliers in order to correct transactions in a timely manner, and keep production on schedule. 

Test Engineer
At various levels of production, test engineers are enlisted to conduct specialized testing on products and machines to ensure overall product integrity is maintained.  Associates must ensure all measuring and testing devices give accurate readings, test goods, and keep highly detailed reports of their findings.  If parts do not meet specifications for any reason, they must notify the proper individuals, and make the needed alterations for creating quality goods. 

QA Supervisor
Spending a great deal of time on the production floor, QA supervisors monitor all processes and employees to guarantee proper policies and procedures are constantly being followed.  Supervisors manage all aspects of quality and It is important for these individuals to have extensive contact with production processes in order to detect and correct any issues that may arise.

QC Supervisor
Associates employed in these occupations oversee the activities of associates testing and evaluating finished products.  QC Supervisors analyze reports, and the activities of all laborers to ensure only quality goods are shipped from the facility.  Upon detecting any flaws, they take immediate action to correct mistakes or begin production of parts to meet customer needs. 

Quality Administrator
Quality administrators are employed primarily to handle all duties associated with quality documentation.  They review records, reports, reviews, and inspection documents to monitor the activity of employees as well as the success of parts and products.  Administrators organize many of the activities necessary for altering or changing production or engineering processes.  It is important that these professionals possess an accurate understanding of production and inspection processes. 

Quality Analyst
Quality analysts work alongside engineers and offer a number of suggestions based on the reports and documents that have been recorded.   Analysts review past and present production and standards, and will often research a variety of other processes in hopes of increasing accuracy and efficiency, or decreasing overall costs.  These candidates must be detail oriented and dedicated individuals. 

Quality Consultant
Often employed by a consulting firm, quality consultants are utilized by organizations to review processes and make suggestions for increasing the success of a business.  They work from information obtained from companies, as well as knowledge from past experiences to recommend better and more efficient methods.  Consultants may create new production, testing, or inspection procedures to decrease company loss and increase overall profits. 

Quality Trainer
Knowledgeable in a variety of quality practices, trainers are employed not only for training new employees, but also for retraining, or developing existing employees’ skills.  Quality trainers must maintain a thorough knowledge of company practices, as well as conduct in-depth research in order to discover other methods or strategies that may increase company success.  Production experience is recommended, but trainers with extensive communication skills and creativity are also able to enter these occupations after completing formal training.

Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Regulatory affairs specialists work alongside numerous professionals to ensure all government and company regulations are maintained.  They are always searching for ways to improve products, but must also be able to accommodate any regulatory changes in a timely manner.  Specialists are required to continually research in order to maintain company and government standards.

Document Control Specialist
Document control specialists organize and evaluate the systems utilized for maintaining and processing all reports, reviews, and other documents.  Responsibilities for this position include assigning tracking numbers, keyboarding, scheduling, faxing, and other clerical duties.  They assist professionals as necessary, and may be responsible for the creation of graphs, charts, or presentations of accumulated information. 

Auditor
With duties similar to financial auditors, auditors in the quality control industry follow the production processes, ensure all steps are followed correctly, and detect any flaws, discrepancies, or weaknesses in the systems.  Auditors are utilized to ensure the quality of goods to outside parties.  Jobs are often based on deadlines, and require professionals to work effectively under pressure.

Certification Tester
For companies with product certification programs in place, certification testers are employed to ensure all standards are met in order to maintain certification.  Testers must develop a variety of evaluations to determine the quality of goods produced.  They are utilized to find any errors and allow manufacturers to make changes that are necessary for regaining product certification standards. 

Inspector
Inspectors review the activities of any entire production process, or a specific department and evaluate processes to detect any changes in the system.  They look into multiple aspects periodically to guarantee uniformity and work directly with laborers and managers to deliver the most accurate reporting available. 

Quality Assurance Technician
Due to the numerous duties expected of quality assurance supervisors, directors, administrators, etc, quality assurance technicians are employed to carry out any duties that are necessary to complete daily tasks.  They must have a thorough knowledge of a variety of manufacturing and quality assurance duties.  QA technicians may assist with testing, evaluating, report preparing, or distribution.

Quality Control Technician
Enlisted for the assistance of numerous quality control professionals, quality control technicians assist with any functions that are needed in order to complete daily quality control tasks.  They may assist with final product evaluation, report preparation, or other necessary duties.  QC technicians are responsible for understanding a variety of aspects of both manufacturing and quality control.

Test Technician
Throughout the entire production and inspection process, test technicians are employed in order to carry out specially designed product assessments to determine the quality and specifications of products.  They conduct a variety of durability checks in addition to the basic measurement checks that are required.  Test technicians keep detailed records of all findings, and must continually be searching for new methods of improving products or final testing.

Quality Assistant
Quality assistants are utilized in a variety of areas.  Their main goal is to help more highly qualified individuals with quality control, quality assurance, testing, inspection, or auditing.  They must have an understanding of processes, and will spend a great deal of time recording information, statistics, and percentages.  Quality assistants must be flexible so that they can fill in when necessary.
