GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Merle Norman Cosmetics, a major cosmetics manufacturer seeks a seasoned Manager of Quality Assurance to work at our Corporate Headquarters located near the L.A.X. airport. This position reports to the Vice President of Quality and is responsible for incoming and in-process production line inspection, over-the-counter batch record review and release, and raw material sampling and release. RESPONSIBILITIES: Hiring, retaining, training and developing staff for all areas of responsibility. Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and other GMP related policies, procedures and documents. Set and monitor procedures to ensure conformance. Batch record review and approval for all over-the-counter drug cosmetic products. Issue Certificates of Analysis for all international shipments. Analyze and present quality assurance performance metrics and trends. Lead and facilitate the nonconformance management process for components and finished product. Investigate root causes of problems to prevent recurrence. Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints. Oversee the functioning and maintenance of departmental equipment, measurement instruments, and infrastructure to ensure product and process quality and quantity objective are met. Ensure all new package components are appropriately tested by the Package Testing Laboratory to prevent any product compatibility, consumer use, shipping or regulatory issues. Actively assist in all federal or state drug GMP inspections, third party or internal audits.

Required Experience and Education 4-year degree, or equivalent experience, in quality assurance. 3-5 years progressive management responsibility in a manufacturing setting and/or 6-10 years quality experience Quality certifications, such as American Society for Quality: Certified Quality Manager (CQM) are preferred ISO Management experience is required Proven ability to implement and manage lean concepts. Experience with fiscal activities such as staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals. Proven record of continual improvement in areas of expertise.
